Walleye: This is a magnificent Walleye area. Trappers Run is a widening of the famous Ogoki River and about 20 miles up river from the Ogoki Reservoir. This stretch of the river has some of the deepest spots found on the Ogoki River and produces the biggest Walleyes. The reason this area is so productive is because the big females spawn in the river current and on sand bars in the spring and then go right back to the deeper holes of Trappers Run. Where there are females, there are tons of smaller males.

You will find rapids, back eddies, rocky points and weed beds all stuffed with Walleyes. You will catch all kinds of Walleyes of any size. The Walleyes are common in the 1 to 3-pound range. There are lots of Walleyes in the 4 to 6-pound range. Once in a while, a really big monster Walleye comes out of Trappers Run like the 14-pounder.

The divers structure of the river and the lake is perfect for the Pike to have successful spawning and to ambush prey. The Ogoki River has produced some of the largest Pike caught in Canada. Monster size Northerns patrol the river waiting to gobble-up unsuspecting Walleyes. Don't be surprised if a monster 25-pound Pike slams your Walleye before you get it to the boat. Guests have seen and caught many trophy Northern Pike in Trappers Run.

Cabin: The cabin sleeps 2 to 6 people. The cabin is clean and comfortable and fully equipped with propane stove and refrigerator. We have a small generator at the cabin for lights. There is a wood-burning stove for heat. Pots, pans, cutlery, dishes and cups are all in the cabin. Cabin also has propane BBQ.
